"Miyoshi Bonten Festival" is a traditional event handed down at Taiheisan Miyoshi Shrine in Akita City, where a colorful Bonten, which is believed to be the home of a god, is dedicated to the shrine to pray for good health and abundant grains for the year. .

This year, it was held with spectators for the first time in three years, and 48 groups such as local neighborhood associations and companies dedicated a 3-meter-long Brahma decorated with colorful cloth.

Also, for the first time in three years, the ``Fighting Brahma'' was held, in which the men fought over each other to offer their Brahma.

This year, only eight towns participated, which is about half of the average year, but the men hit each other and fought violently, and the precincts were enveloped in the heat of blowing away the winter cold.

A man in his 50s who participated in the Kenka Brahma said, "This is the first time in three years that the event has been held, and I'm more motivated than usual. I think we're going to have a great year."

Yasunori Tamura, chief priest of Taiheiyama Miyoshi Shrine, said, "I'm happy to be able to hold an event with spectators for the first time in three years. There were groups that hadn't been able to participate yet, so the shrine will support them so that they can participate again. I want to go," he said.
