The impact of the cold wave is basically over, but there will still be more cold air activities in the future

At present, the impact of the cold wave on most parts of my country has basically ended, and large-scale rain and snow have ceased. In the future, the temperature in various places will rise again.

It is expected that in the first half of this week, the temperature in most parts of my country will show a rising trend as a whole. The cumulative temperature increase in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River may reach about 10°C, and the highest temperature around Wednesday will gradually rise to above 10°C.

For example, in Wuhan, the highest temperature yesterday was only about 1°C, and it gradually rose to 10°C on the 18th. The temperature fluctuates significantly, and the public needs to adjust their clothes in time.

However, the cold air activity will not stop here. Judging from the current forecast, there will be two rounds of cold air in the future.

From the 19th to the 20th, there will be a wave of cold air affecting the northern regions of our country. During this period, strong winds will mainly cool down. It is expected that North China, Northeast China, Huanghuai and other places will have a 4°C to 8°C drop in temperature.

There was light snow and local moderate snow in parts of eastern Inner Mongolia and southern Northeast China.

From the 22nd to the 24th, another wave of cold air will affect the central and eastern regions of my country. Most areas will drop the temperature by 4°C to 8°C, and the eastern part of Inner Mongolia, the central and southern parts of Northeast China will drop the temperature locally by 10°C to 14°C.

Sand and dust weather in parts of Gansu, western Inner Mongolia and other places

Affected by cold air and strong winds, from the daytime on the 16th to the 18th, there were sand or floating dust in parts of southern Xinjiang, central and western Inner Mongolia, central and western Gansu, eastern Qinghai, most of Ningxia, central and northern Shaanxi, and northern North China. There are sandstorms.

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue sand and dust weather forecasts at 06:00 on January 16.

The public in the above-mentioned areas need to take relevant protective measures to reduce going out.

In addition, on the 17th, there were light to moderate snow or sleet in parts of northeastern Inner Mongolia, northern Heilongjiang, eastern Tibet, southeastern Qinghai, northern Sichuan Plateau, and northern Guizhou. Among them, parts of eastern Tibet had heavy snow.

The meteorological department reminded that it is currently the peak period of Spring Festival travel. In the next few days, the weather in most of the country will turn calm, which is generally more conducive to travel. However, the southwestern region still needs to pay attention to prevent rain, snow, slippery roads and other adverse effects on traffic travel.
