Prince Harry is visibly worried about his nephews, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who are, like him, "substitutes" for their big brother, born to reign, Prince George.
While some think the revelations in his memoir,
The Substitute
, or the Netflix documentary,
Harry & Meghan
, can change the British monarchy, the Duke of Sussex is far more pessimistic.
“I came into the world in case something happened to Willy.
I was called in to be a back-up, a distraction, a diversion and, if necessary, a substitute.
A kidney, maybe.
A blood transfusion.
From the spinal cord.
This was told to me very explicitly from the beginning of my existence and regularly reminded with insistence afterwards,” he wrote in
Le Suppléant
.
Worry
A situation that he does not want to see repeated with the children of his older brother, prince William.
He also claims to have had a discussion with him on this subject, but would have been sent to the ropes.
“We spoke about it once or twice with William, but he was very clear in telling me that his children were not my responsibility.
I still feel a responsibility, knowing that out of those three kids, at least one will end up like me, a substitute.
It hurts me and it worries me,' he told the
Telegraph
as part of the promotion for his memoir.
Neither Prince William nor their father, King Charles III, have yet reacted to Prince Harry's comments.

A reconciliation between Harry and the royal family would be “possible” before the coronation of Charles III
