The literary blows against the British royal family did not go down well in Hollywood either.

The Californian branch of the British Academy of Film and Television Art, BAFTA for short, decided not to invite the royal and his wife Meghan to the traditional tea party after Prince Harry's scandalous biography "Spare".

While the Dukes of Sussex had to stay at home in Montecito, BAFTA celebrated in Beverly Hills last weekend with the likes of Guillermo del Toro, Judd Hirsch and Kate Hudson.

"BAFTA said it wouldn't have been a good idea to invite them.

It would have been a PR disaster," an employee of the film academy told The Sun.

He also referred to the strained relationship between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William, heir apparent and BAFTA President.

The Duke of Sussex had accused his older brother in "Spare", among other things, of insulting his wife Meghan as rude.

In a dispute about the native Californian, the Prince of Wales also allegedly pushed his younger brother to the ground.
