Xu Haixing, a member of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, believes that Yangshao Culture has already met three of the six selection criteria.
Namely: can provide a unique at least special testimony to a civilization or cultural tradition that has disappeared; can serve as an outstanding example of a building or group of buildings or landscape, showing one (or several) important in human history. stage; may serve as an outstanding example of a traditional human habitation or use, representative of a culture (or cultures), especially susceptible to damage under the influence of irreversible change.
As one of the most widely distributed archaeological cultures in China, the Yangshao Culture involves ten provinces and regions, and is widely distributed in Henan, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Gansu, Hubei, Hebei, Inner Mongolia and other places.
The site of Yangshao Village in Sanmenxia, Henan is an important place of origin of the Yangshao Culture.
Xu Haixing suggested that Henan Province take the lead in jointly submitting the Yangshao Culture World Heritage Application Form jointly with the above-mentioned provinces; confirm the preservation status of the existing Yangshao Cultural sites, search for unregistered Yangshao Cultural sites that have not been found in statistics; and cooperate with scientific research institutes related to archaeology Integrate and display the research results of Yangshao culture.
He told a reporter from China News Agency that the wide range of Yangshao cultural relics and many provinces involved are the difficulties in his application, but Henan has participated in the application of the Silk Road and the Grand Canal project. "Henan has experience in this regard."
In 2021, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Yangshao Culture, there are voices to jointly declare the Yangshao Cultural Site Group as a world cultural heritage.
At the previous two sessions of Henan Province, deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the CPPCC also paid attention to Yangshao Culture's application for World Heritage.
According to Li Shiwei, deputy director of the Prehistoric Archeology Research Office of Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology, this move can promote the excavation and interpretation of the important connotation and value of Yangshao Culture, and promote the further development of research on the origin of Chinese civilization.
