As the burden on household budgets increases due to the impact of high prices, an organization in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture is promoting an initiative called "Seifuku Bank," soliciting donations of school supplies such as uniforms and school bags and giving them to families who have difficulty purchasing them.

"Seifuku Bank" has been running for five years by Takasaki City's organization "Food Bank M Takasaki," which distributes food to economically struggling families and operates children's cafeterias.

We solicit donations of school supplies such as school uniforms and school bags from alumni and their families, and provide them to families on a tight budget and for whom buying new items is a heavy burden.

Currently, we have received 200 uniforms and 20 school bags from about 50 junior and senior high schools in Gunma Prefecture, but we are calling for further donations as the initiative has not yet spread.

Donations are limited to randoseru from all over Japan and school uniforms from schools in Gunma Prefecture.

Hiromi Marumo of "Food Bank M Takasaki" said, "I often hear that it is difficult to pay for school supplies, which are concentrated in March and cost more than 100,000 yen. When life is really tough, I would love to hear from you. If you can raise it," he said.
