At Kyoto's National Treasure Sanjusangendo, the annual New Year's bow ceremony was held, and the participants, who turned 20 years old this year, shot arrows one after another.

At Sanjusangendo Temple in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, a national archery tournament is held every year around this time, in connection with the history of the "Toshiya" competition, in which master archers competed from the Kamakura period to the Edo period. I'm here.

On the 15th, prior to the competition, about 50 people in furisode and hakama who turned 20 this year performed the beginning of the bow at the outdoor shooting range.

The participants held their breath, aimed at a target with a diameter of 1 meter 60 meters away, and shot arrows one after another.

A university student from Muko City, Kyoto Prefecture said, "I've always wanted to participate, so I'm really happy. I'm studying science at university, so I want to do my best to help people."

Also, a university student from Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture said, "My parents are coming to see me, so I want to show my growth by drawing a bow."
