News18 revealed that last week a security vulnerability was discovered in the Google Chrome browser that put billions of users around the world at risk.

The site added that the announcement of the vulnerability caused panic, because the browser is very popular and is used across different platforms, and continued that the security vulnerability could allow hackers to steal users' confidential data.

Cybersecurity experts at Imperva warned of the seriousness of the vulnerability, as it relates to more than two billion browser users.

The company said, in a blog, that the technical vulnerability is related to the mechanism of action of Google Chrome browsers, and added that if hackers reach this vulnerability, they can simply deceive users and access their confidential data.

More worrying, she added, is that users may not even know that they are handing such data over to hackers, and it could be misused to steal other data or even money.

The site stated that “Google” fixed the situation, as it issued a correction through the release of “Chrome 108”.
