The whale that appeared near the mouth of the Yodo River in Osaka Bay has hardly moved from where it was found on the 12th, four days after its discovery.

Around 8 am on the 9th of this month, a whale with a length of about 8 meters was found swimming on the sea surface near the mouth of the Yodo River in Nishiyodogawa Ward, Osaka.



This whale is believed to be a sperm whale, and according to the Osaka Coast Guard Headquarters, around 8 am on the 12th, it was drifting about 400 meters south of the nearby quay and about 2 meters deep.



Until now, it has been confirmed that the tide is blowing occasionally, but there was almost no movement for an hour and a half from around 6:30 on the 12th, and no tide was seen. about it.



Tsutomu Tamura of the Japanese Institute of Cetacean Studies, who conducts research on whales, commented on this situation, ``Sperm whales may not breathe for about an hour to feed in deep water, but usually they take 10 to 20 minutes. He takes one breath every day, and from what I've seen in the press footage, he looks pretty weak."



The Osaka Coast Guard Headquarters will continue to monitor the situation and call attention to vessels underway.
