The return of the Golden Globe Awards this Tuesday after a year's absence was unfortunately not very popular with viewers.

Despite an enticing list of presenters and nominees, the score was very disappointing.

Broadcast live on NBC and simulcast on Peacock for more than three hours, the ceremony drew 6.3 million people, down 9% from the 6.9 million in the stripped-down 2021 broadcast. As

recalls , it This is the worst score, not counting the televised press conference in 2008 which replaced the annual ceremony because of the writers' strike.

It was better before

In any case, there seems to be a before and an after pandemic also in terms of TV audiences.

In 2020, 18.3 million people watched the Golden Globes ceremony.

However, this poor audience did not spoil the joy of the lucky winners like Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Eddie Murphy, Michelle Yeoh… or even Jennifer Coolidge who won her first statuette after more than three decades of career.
