An official complaint against the Egyptian broadcaster, Yasmine Ezz, because of her advice to women

The National Council for Women in Egypt submitted an official complaint to the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt, against the Egyptian media, Yasmine Ezz, and her program “Kalam al-Nas” broadcast on “MBC Egypt,” considering that the content of the program “offends women and deliberately insults them.”

This coincides with the submission by the Egyptian Center for Women's Rights in Egypt, an "independent body", of a communication to the Public Prosecutor against Yasmine Ezz, accusing her of "inciting violence against women", in an official communication No. 1958 of 2023.

The National Council for Women said, in a press statement it posted on its official Facebook page, that this content is "insulting and reactionary, harming women... and works to divert societal awareness of what is being accomplished on the ground to empower Egyptian women."

The council indicated that it “submitted an official complaint against the program to the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (the body responsible for regulating the Egyptian media), after the council received many complaints from Egyptian women through social media platforms, in which they expressed their rejection of this content, and demanded that it be stopped.”

The council added, “This type of content includes incitement to violence against women, normalization of the husband’s insult to his wife, and it also includes ridicule and bullying of the Egyptian family, which leads to the destruction of the social structure and the creation of conflicts within the family.”

On the other hand, Ezz expressed her surprise at the words of the President of the National Council for Women, pointing out in a post on her personal page on social networking sites, the difference in tastes, and the "need to be objective in expressing an opinion."
