The flu epidemic has continued to slow in recent days throughout France, the public health agency summarized on Wednesday.

Last week was marked by a "decrease in all influenza indicators in all age groups", noted Public Health France in its weekly report.

At the hospital, "the number of visits to the emergency room and hospitalizations after passage were also down sharply in all age groups" last week.

However, an upward recovery in flu indicators remains possible in the coming weeks, warns the health agency, recalling that "this had been observed during the 2017-18 season when the epidemic was early. and exceptionally long.

On the Covid-19 front, the trend is also improving

The flu epidemic, which currently strikes all regions of mainland France and most of the overseas territories, is early this year.

In fact, the health system has been under strain for several weeks due to a triple epidemic of Covid-19, bronchiolitis and influenza, which is weighing on emergency services.

On the side of bronchiolitis precisely, the epidemic continues in metropolitan France as well as in Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique and Mayotte this week, but with a “decrease in emergency visits and hospitalizations after emergency visits” for the fifth consecutive week.

On the Covid-19 front, the trend is also improving, since last week, the slowdown in the circulation of Sars Cov-2 was accentuated on national territory.
