China News Service, Urumqi, January 11 (Pan Qigou Jipeng Suo Wenlu) The "Third China Xinjiang International Art Biennale" sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was held in Urumqi on January 10 An opening ceremony was held, and the biennale will run until February 25.

  The theme of this year's Biennale is "Harmonious Coexistence with Beauty", and consists of three themed exhibitions, "Civilization and Integration", "Symbiosis and Dialogue", and "Ecology and Homeland", as well as two special exhibitions, "Sketching Xinjiang" and "Between Heaven and Earth".

A total of 260 works by 143 artists from 11 countries including China were exhibited.

At the Biennale this year, the novel exhibition works attracted citizens to pick up their mobile phones to take pictures.

  The reporter saw at the scene that there are both easel paintings and video installations in this biennale, and more and more technologies are involved in artistic creation, bringing more forms of expression.

Artist Chen Qi's work "Nowhere to Go" uses technology to create a world full of water and light. When you are on the scene, you seem to see the water, blue sky and sunshine of Venice.

  Mu Xinhui, a citizen of Urumqi, who is watching the exhibition, said: "I took my children to visit this biennale today. During the visit, I found that the exhibits are very novel and colorful, which is worth savoring carefully. Children also like to draw. I am very happy to see these works of art.”

  Zhang Zikang, curator of CAFA Art Museum and chief curator of this biennale, said that the exhibition planning of this biennale starts from Xinjiang’s cultural characteristics and the advantages of openness in the future, focusing on the future blueprint of Xinjiang’s development, with "openness" "Integration" and "ecology" are key words in the curation of this exhibition. Through an international high-level art dialogue, explore, experiment and look forward to Xinjiang's future cultural and artistic ecology, Xinjiang's foreign cultural exchanges and the promotion of regional cultural connotations.

  On the opening day, a series of cultural salons of "Dialogue with Beauty" were also held. Many well-known artists discussed topics such as art innovation driving social, economic and cultural innovation, culture and art shaping the city's image, and creating a city's cultural business card.
