The Coachella festival is a global meeting.

For the first time, the musical high mass of the Californian desert, which will bring together 250,000 festival-goers over two weekends in April (14-16 and 21-23), will be led by Latinx headliners, with the Puerto Rican sensation – and Spotify's Most Streamed Artist of the Year – Bad Bunny, and Asian, along with Blackpink's K-pop.

The American Frank Ocean will close the festival on Sunday evening.

After two years without in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and a 2022 edition shaken by the last-minute cancellation of Kanye West, Coachella is counting on many international artists.

On the French-speaking side, we will find Angèle and Christine and the Queens, but also the Franco-American jazz duo DOMi and JD Beck, the DJ Marc Rebillet or the Quebec producer of Haitian origin Kaytranada.

Add in Spanish singer Rosalia, Nigerian king of Afrobeats Burna Boy, pure Swiss deep house Nora and Chinese-born K-pop star Jackson Wang, and we've never seen such a diverse line-up under California palms.

RIP, rock

There is therefore something for all tastes, but also for all generations.

The younger ones, with The Kid Laroi and the Linda Lindas, and the older ones with Björk, who we haven't seen here since 2007, Gorillaz, the Chemical Brothers and even Blondie.

Some will be sorry, but guitars have been on the way out for a long time.

For the third time in 24 years, there will be no rock band among the headliners.

The last time three bands played prime time on the biggest stage was ten years ago, with Blur, Phoenix and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

We are waiting for the succession.
