Each year, one in ten French people go skiing in one of the 232 resorts in France.

However, according to an OpinionWay survey for Ginkoia, these holidaymakers are slightly less tempted to spend their holidays in the mountains in 2023 than in previous years.

For good reason, the rise in prices, undermining household budgets, is pushing the French to modify their holidays, or even to cancel them.

“There is no real reason why the ski holiday has become more popular since, the prices have not fallen,” explained to

In addition, with historically mild temperatures, some resorts do not have enough snow (if at all), forcing managers to temporarily close and holidaymakers to change plans.
