Will director Park Chan-wook's film 'Decision to Break Up' hold the Golden Globe trophy following director Bong Joon-ho's 'Parasite' in 2020?

'Decision to Break Up' aims for the 'Best Non-English Film Award' at the 80th Golden Globe Awards held in the United States on the afternoon of the 11th (Korean time).

'Decision to break up' competes for trophies with 'All's on the Western Front' (Germany), 'Argentina, 1985 (Argentina), 'Close' (Belgium), and 'RRR: Rise Lower Revolt' (India).

Director Park Chan-wook left for the United States on the 4th to attend the awards ceremony.

Korean movies and Korean actors have recently made a connection with the Golden Globes.

In 2020, director Bong Joon-ho's 'Parasite' became the first Korean film to receive the award.

In 2021, Korean-American director Jeong Isak's'Minari' also won the trophy in this category.

Last year, actor Oh Young-soo won the Best Supporting Actor Award in the TV category for the Netflix drama 'Squid Game'.

'Decision to Break Up' depicts the story of Hae-jun (Park Hae-il), a detective who is investigating an accidental death in the mountains, meeting Seo-rae (Tang Wei), the wife of the deceased, and feeling both suspicion and interest at the same time.

It received worldwide attention by winning the Best Director Award at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival, and started the Oscar race starting with its North American release in October last year.

A strong competitor is the German film 'All Quiet on the Western Front'.

It is the third remake following 1930 and 1979 as a film based on the anti-war novel by German writer Erich Maria Remarque.

It is a film produced by Netflix and made in German to preserve realism.

The foreign press predicts that it will be a two-way match with the 'decision to break up'.

Indian film 'RRR' and Belgian 'Close' are cited as ambushes.

The Golden Globe is an awards ceremony hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association and held every year in Los Angeles, USA, and is called the prelude to the Academy Awards.

Starting with this awards ceremony, major awards ceremonies that serve as the leverage of the Oscars, such as the Critics' Choice Awards on the 15th and the British Academy on the 19th, will be held one after another.

Considering that awards season is full of atmosphere, winning a Golden Globe is very important.

The awards ceremony will be held on the 11th (Korean time) at 8:00 pm at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, USA.
