One of the eight major shogi titles, “Oshosen,” has started in Shizuoka Prefecture, and the title-holder Sota Fujii five crowns (20) has begun a game with Yoshiharu Hanyu 9th dan (52).

The 7th match of the "Osho Battle" began on the 8th, and after the challenger Hanyu 9th Dan entered the venue in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Fujii Gokan sat in front of the board and the game began at 9:00 am.

Fujii Gokaku was the first mover, and when he hit the ``step'' of the rook, Hanyu 9th Dan moved the ``step'' to open the corner.

After that, they exchanged "horns" and proceeded with each other's pieces.

Fujii Gokan has already succeeded in defending his own titles of “Eio”, “Kisei”, “Throne” and “Ryuo” this year.

"Oshosen" is the 5th title defense match this year.

On the other hand, Hanyu 9-dan has set numerous records, such as achieving the first ever “seven crowns” and reaching 1,500 wins in official matches, and boasts the highest number of titles won in history, 99 years. If you win, you will reach the 100th stage.

The two have played eight times in official matches so far, and Fujii has won seven times, but in the title match, it is the "first meeting".

The seventh match of the “Osho Battle” will be scheduled until March this year, and the first to win four wins will win the title.

The first game is expected to be decided on the afternoon of the 9th.
