January 8th was the first day that Hong Kong and the mainland resumed "customs clearance". On the morning of that day, the MTR Lok Ma Chau Station, which had been suspended for nearly three years, was re-opened for service.

At 6:06 am, the MTR Lok Ma Chau Station ushered in the first train carrying cross-border passengers.

In an interview with a reporter from China News Agency, a passenger said that he had not returned to the mainland for nearly three years, and he was very excited to be able to rush back to the mainland on the first day of "customs clearance" to reunite with relatives and friends.

A reporter from China News Agency saw at the scene that MTR Lok Ma Chau Station can be seen everywhere with warm reminders, reminding cross-border passengers of the clearance certificates and documents they need to bring.

With the arrival of the first batch of cross-border passengers, the gate of Futian Port on the Lok Ma Chau branch line was slowly raised, and the first batch of cross-border passengers queued up in an orderly manner to go through customs clearance procedures.

Around 6:40 in the morning of the same day, inbound passengers from Hong Kong came out of the Shenzhen Bay Port and arrived at the exit. They expressed their inner excitement to the reporter.

The reporter saw at the scene that in order to welcome inbound passengers, Shenzhen Lewan Port has prepared a wish wall at the arrival hall, and provides small gifts for passengers who leave messages on the wish wall.

It is reported that the first phase of "customs clearance" will open 7 ports.

Among them, three land ports including Shenzhen Bay have a daily one-way limit of 50,000 Hong Kong residents.

There is no limit on the number of people at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal, the two shipping ports of the China Ferry Terminal, the airport, and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and the one-way transport capacity can reach 10,000 people per day.
