The main suspect is behind bars.
On January 5, a 30-year-old man suspected of having raped a 13-year-old girl was arrested by the police on the coastal path of Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique).
It is on this same path that the young woman was walking on December 20, 2022 when she was caught and then threatened by an individual with a knife.
The man had forced him to go to the beach between Porcé and Bonne-Anse to impose oral sex on him before attempting penetration without success.
The teenager had been able to flee and an appeal for witnesses had been launched.
Despite the state of shock, the victim was able to give a very precise description of his attacker, allowing a composite portrait to be established.
Unknown to justice or almost
It is thanks to this sketch that on January 5, an off-duty policeman recognized the alleged perpetrator of this rape.
While walking on the same coastal path, the official identified the man and alerted his colleagues.
“The man was immediately arrested and a kitchen knife was found in his clothing.
In police custody, he ended up recognizing most of the facts denounced, ”said the public prosecutor of Nantes Renaud Gaudeul.
The individual was indicted for rape of a minor under 15, with a weapon before being remanded in custody.
Aged 30 and living in Saint-Nazaire, the respondent was a maintenance worker.
He had never had any dealings with the law outside of a minor offense of driving without a license in 2018.
