On January 7, 2023, the official WeChat account of the Shangrao Public Security Bureau released the "Notice on the Progress of the Investigation of Hu Mouyu's Disappearance" and "A Letter to Netizens".

What progress has been made so far?
No trace evidence of Hu Xinyu's murder, suicide, or accident in the school was found, and no suspicious circumstances such as conflicts between Hu Xinyu and others were found.
According to the existing information, Hu Xinyu left the school on his own, and is currently searching for it.
Was there anything unusual about Hu Xinyu before he disappeared?
After investigation, after Hu Xinyu attended Zhiyuan Middle School, his multi-subject test scores were in the middle of the class. He once expressed to his teachers and classmates that he was struggling to study, under great pressure, had trouble concentrating, had sleep problems, did not have a good rest, and wanted to go home.
Hu Xinyu has repeatedly written down insomnia, loss, and wanting to go home in books and notebooks.
On September 27, Hu Xinyu talked with his mother three times for a total of 43 minutes, crying and complaining that he didn't want to study and wanted to go home.
Before the National Day, students chatted about being able to climb out of the school from a corner of the Sui Garden wall.
During the National Day, his mother and elder brother made a special trip back from other places to appease him.
On October 11, the results of the geography test were announced and ranked the bottom of the class.
On October 12th and 13th, Hu Xinyu went to the balcony on the third floor of the dormitory building to watch Suiyuan and the direction of the woods and hills outside the school many times, and invited students to go to Suiyuan.
On October 14, Hu Xinyu always lowered his head in class, staring at the textbook in a daze.
What was the specific whereabouts of Hu Xinyu before his disappearance?
According to the video surveillance and investigation on October 14, Hu Xinyu went to the cafeteria to eat after class in the afternoon, returned to bedroom 306 alone at 17:40 after dinner for a short stay, and then went up to the balcony on the fifth floor to stay for 2 minutes and 57 seconds. Looking in the direction of the woods and hills outside the school;
Walking out of the dormitory building at 17:45, the students playing basketball had a simple conversation with him, and the surveillance showed that he was walking towards Suiyuan;
At 17:49, Hu Xinyu returned to the dormitory building again, but did not return to the dormitory. At 17:50, he arrived at the balcony on the fifth floor and stayed there for 13 seconds;
At 17:51:30, after Hu Xinyu walked out of the dormitory, the students playing basketball greeted him again and saw him walking up the steps of Suiyuan;
At 17:51:58, Hu Xinyu's trajectory was not found after leaving the video surveillance range in the direction of Suiyuan.
Has the school monitoring been deleted?
After receiving the police on October 15, the public security organ retrieved and fixed the video related to Hu Xinyu's trajectory on the day of the incident.
Invited by the public security organ, technicians from Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd. went to the site to inspect the equipment several times since November 4, and issued the "Report on the DVR Situation of Zhiyuan Middle School in Qianshan County" on December 16. It proves that the hard disk video recorder in the school does not have a function module for manually deleting logs and recordings.
The professional and technical personnel of the equipment manufacturer further explained the principles of equipment log and video storage and security protection, and confirmed that it cannot be deleted without the equipment and technical support of the manufacturer.
At the same time, the public security agency also organized video technology experts to conduct experiments and repeated demonstrations. Combined with the investigation of all personnel who entered and exited the monitoring room before and after the incident, it was determined that the video surveillance in the school had not been artificially deleted or closed.
Why was it not established as a criminal case?
After a comprehensive and detailed investigation, no illegal and criminal facts have been found so far that Hu Xinyu was violated. According to the "Criminal Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China" and other laws and regulations, no criminal case has been established.
Is the relevant person suspected of a crime?
The head teacher Yan Mouqiang, the vice principal Wang Mou, the principal Liu Moulai and others who are concerned about the netizens, through video verification, witness testimony, and other information comprehensive identification, found no abnormalities, and ruled out criminal suspicion.
What misinformation exists today?
After investigation, the information spread on the Internet "was wrapped in white cloth on the second floor", "bloody quilt was found in the back mountain", "found in the laboratory in the back mountain", "broken bones were found in the septic tank", "killed by the bald teacher", "dissolved by the chemistry teacher with water "He was taken to the hospital to remove his organs and then dumped his body in Hanoi", "the man was transported by SUV", "the recorder was found", etc. are all rumors.
What is the nature of the school? Who is a legal person?
Zhiyuan Middle School was founded in August 1999 by five teachers including Liu Moulai. It is a full-time private middle school and is now solely owned by Liu Moulai with no foreign investment background.
The legal representative and principal of the school, Liu Moulai, male, was born in 1962 in Qianshan County, and his current household registration is in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The only institution under his name is the Zhiyuan Middle School in Qianshan County.
His wife and son have successively registered and established four educational technology companies, one of which was deregistered in November 2017, two of which applied for deregistration in August 2022 and were formally deregistered in October, and one of which was deregistered in December 2022 log out.
Liu Moulai has no younger brother, but one older brother is a retired university professor.
Neither Liu Moulai nor his family members were involved in the funeral or medical industry.
Has anything like this happened before?
After checking the police records of the public security organs, there were 8 cases of Zhiyuan Middle School students missing and asking for help from 2015 to before Hu Mouyu disappeared. All 8 students ran away on their own and have been found.
In addition, on July 5, 2022, a girl surnamed Ding from the school fell to her death in an off-campus residential area, and no criminal case was ruled out.
There has never been a teacher disappearance incident in the school.
What off-campus and out-of-province searches have you done?
Searched about 589 acres of woods and hills on the south side of the school, about 200 kilometers of the Xinjiang River section from Yanshan County to Yugan County, and about 22 kilometers along the Fengfu Railway;
Interviewed 2238 households near the school, 159 enterprises, drivers of 951 vans, 226 temples and Taoist temples, 25 elderly care institutions and 1 rescue station in the county;
72 ponds were investigated, and 3 reservoirs were detected by sonar;
Repeatedly checked and cross-checked 6,471.5 hours of surveillance video and more than 317,000 snapshots of traffic checkpoints;
Four times, people were sent to Fujian, Zhejiang and other areas where Hu Mouyu lived or might go to search;
The Qianshan County Party Committee and the County Government have extensively mobilized village cadres, mountain guards and the general public, and carried out three rounds of search work throughout the county;
A clues assistance investigation report was issued to 25 provincial public security organs, and 378 clues were eliminated.
So far, no trace of Hu Mouyu and valuable clues have been found.
