"Where is the wine, which is the drunk/where is the shop, which is the sleep..." Recently, Gao Hongzhang, a singer of the Yi nationality and a national first-class actor, teamed up with the famous musician Li Jie to recreate his music masterpiece "Da Ge" .

The song combines rock music originated in the United States and Chinese folk music. After it was released on the whole network, netizens at home and abroad were refreshed.

China is a harmonious family with 56 ethnic groups. Over thousands of years of development, each ethnic group has formed their own singing methods with their own characteristics and styles.

"Singing styles of some ethnic groups represented by Tibet and Yi are high-pitched, long-sounding and full of charm, which is not inferior to the bel canto from Europe. They need scientific summary and wide dissemination before they can go to the world." Gao Hongzhang said.

Gao Hongzhang was born and grew up in Nanjian Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, which is full of ethnic customs and rich and colorful ethnic cultures. People of all ethnic groups "sing happily from morning to night to live."

When performing in various places in his hometown, he found that the singing voices of some Yi folk singers were bright and beautiful, which was very appealing.

So he began to study and learn excellent folk singing, dreaming that one day he could bring the original ethnic music of his hometown out of the mountains.

In 2007, Gao Hongzhang performed abroad for the first time.

He was invited to participate in the Smithsonian Folk Culture and Art Festival in the United States, and performed the charm of Chinese national vocal music on the other side of the ocean.

Since then, he has performed in more than 30 countries including Japan, South Korea, Spain, Norway, and Finland many times, and every time he goes, he will set off a wave of "Chinese national style" in the local area.

The "Washington Post" of the United States called him "a singer with unique artistic ideas and innovative spirit".

"How can we better bring Chinese national vocal music to the world?" After going abroad many times, Gao Hongzhang began to think and explore.

In 2011, he collaborated with Chinese, British and Japanese musicians to create his own music album "Singing Bomber Gao Hongzhang - Dage", which purified and re-presented the energy of Yi music, and integrated national music with world music. Widely acclaimed at home and abroad.

After accumulating many years of performance experience and theoretical study, Gao Hongzhang believes that bel canto originated from Italian folk and is similar to Chinese folk singing.

"However, most of China's national vocal music has not been systematically and scientifically summarized, and vocal music theory has not been formed." He believes that if China's excellent national vocal music can form a mature academic system like bel canto, it will be easier to promote on a global scale and heritage.

At the same time, there are still many national vocal music in China that are "hidden in deep boudoirs that people don't know".

"This requires wider dissemination." Gao Hongzhang said that he and several local Nanjian singers recently appeared on the stage of the "Folk Song Grand View" Yunnan folk song exhibition series, which is a very beneficial attempt. National vocal music has a stage to showcase, and it can be spread to more countries through China News Network, one of the organizers."

"Chinese national vocal music has been tested for thousands of years. The tune is beautiful and the singing method is scientific. I believe it will be loved by more people around the world!" Gao Hongzhang said firmly.
