Due to the construction work being carried out at Shibuya Station on the JR Yamanote Line, the section from Osaki Station to Ikebukuro Station on the outer circumference will be suspended for two days on the 7th and 8th.

JR East is calling for the use of alternative transportation, etc., as it is expected to affect 530,000 people.

JR East is proceeding with the improvement work of Shibuya Station in accordance with the Shibuya redevelopment project, and this time, which is the fourth step of the five steps, the outer tracks of the Yamanote Line will be relocated and one platform will be built for the outer and inner tracks. I am working on making it.

Due to this, the outer loop of the Yamanote Line runs from Osaki Station to Ikebukuro Station via Shibuya Station, and all 540 trains between the first train on the 7th and the last train on the 8th have been suspended.

As for the number of trains in other sections,

▽ the section from Ikebukuro Station on the outer loop to Osaki Station via Tokyo Station is about 30% to 40% during the day, and

▽ from Ikebukuro Station on the inner loop to Osaki Station via Shibuya Station. The section to go is reduced to about 70% during the day.

At JR Shibuya Station, a total of 4,000 workers will be working on the construction over the next two days, and on the morning of the 7th, they will remove part of the platform and use crowbars to move the railroad ties together. was

According to JR East, it is expected that 530,000 people will be affected, so the number of Saikyo lines that run in parallel with the suspended section will be increased, and transfers will be made by Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway.

Takuya Serizawa, manager of JR East's construction work department, said, "The amount of work involved in switching tracks this time is high and the level of difficulty is high, but we want to proceed with the work safely so that we can welcome the next morning. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I would like to ask for your cooperation."
