After its resounding success on Netflix, it would be surprising if

Wednesday

did not return for a second season.

However, nothing has been announced yet and the streaming platform may well lose the broadcasting rights to one of its main competitors.

Indeed, MGM, which produced the series directed by Tim Burton, finally fell into the clutches of Amazon following a recently finalized $8.5 billion takeover.

However, if Amazon thus recovers a catalog of more than 4,000 films and no less than 17,000 episodes of series of all kinds, the rights to this hypothetical second season of

Wednesday

do not automatically return to it, as Deadline rightly points out.

Netflix will have every opportunity to secure the rights when the time comes, subject, of course, to a check worthy of the immense success of this nascent franchise.
