On the morning of the 6th, there was an accident in which a train on the JR Joban Line collided with a light passenger car at a railroad crossing in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and according to the police, two people in the car were unconscious and in critical condition.



Due to this, the Joban Line has suspended operation in some sections in Ibaraki Prefecture.

According to JR East Mito branch office, after 8:00 am on the 6th, there was an accident at the railroad crossing in Obara, Kasama City on the JR Joban Line, where an inbound train bound for Shinagawa and a light passenger car collided.



The car is believed to have been dragged over 100 meters from the railroad crossing and is badly damaged.



According to police, two people are trapped in the car in an unconscious state, and rescue operations are underway.



About 500 passengers and crew members were on board the train, but no injuries were reported.



Due to the accident, the Joban Line is still suspended on the inbound and outbound lines between Mito Station and Hatori Station.
