On the occasion of the release of his new album in tribute to Joe Dassin, Garou gave an interview to our colleagues from "Parisien".

The singer spoke at length about this project and also spoke about his private life.

He formalized half-word his break with Stéphanie Fournier, his companion for more than ten years.

This is the end of a beautiful story.

After more than a decade of love, Garou and his partner Stéphanie Fournier have decided to go their separate ways.

Passing through France to promote

, his new album in tribute to the famous singer, the Quebec artist gave an interview to the

Parisian.

He confirms, half-word, his break with Stéphanie Fournier.

“We were starting to live like an old couple”

"It's my longest story," he says.

"We were starting to live like an old couple. Today, I allow myself more freedom".

Garou has therefore indeed turned the page on this beautiful love story which has made him happy for ten years.

"Today, I'm very much in love. She's very excessive too, but only in love. So we come together on that ground and, for the rest, she calms me down a lot! Luckily she's there", he confided in 2016, in an interview for the magazine

Télé-Loisirs.

The interpreter of

even imagined having a child with Stéphanie Fournier.

He thus recognized wanting to “expand the family” with his companion.

"I'm all alone and it suits me very well"

Alas, the passion did not last between Garou and Stéphanie.

The lovebirds have gradually let themselves be invaded by a deadly routine.

Garou now intends to enjoy his new single life.

His daily life in Quebec?

"I go home, I put oil in the chainsaw to cut wood and I get on my tractor. I'm all alone and it suits me very well", he assures in the columns of

Another definition of happiness...
