Hala Badri, Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), visited the exhibition of Emirati photographer Ali Bin Thalith, Secretary General of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, which he is holding under the title “Amazing Depths” at Khawla Art Gallery. , located in the Dubai Design District, during the period from 5 to 28 January.

During her tour, in which she was accompanied by Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, Executive Director of the Arts and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, Badri saw a group of photographs included in the exhibition, which represent a summary of the creations of Ali bin Thalith, who is known for his amazing artistic shots that document the details of the local environment.

In the context, the Director General of the Authority stressed the importance of supporting talents and providing opportunities for them to express their ideas and various artistic visions, noting that Dubai's hosting of photography exhibitions confirms its status and enhances the strength of its artistic and creative scene.

She pointed out that the exhibition “Amazing the Depths” highlights the aesthetics of the art of underwater photography, and shows the capabilities and craftsmanship of photographer Ali Bin Thalith in conveying the components of the natural environment that the UAE abounds in, and is an essential part of our local culture and heritage, saying, “The exhibition gives the public the opportunity to discover the marine environment.” and aesthetics, and to learn about the secrets of the oceans ».

She noted that the art of local photography is currently witnessing a transitional phase in which it is heading towards more passion and interest, stressing that Dubai Culture's support for creative talents comes as part of its responsibility towards the cultural and creative sector in the emirate, praising at the same time the efforts of Bin Thalith in documenting the details of the environment. local and its ingenuity in showing its masterpieces.

The exhibition, which included 46 photographs, sheds light on a series of Bin Thalith’s unique and exceptional works that he captured for a group of rare underwater creatures. the environment in all its elements and components.

It is noteworthy that the photographer, Ali Bin Thalith, is considered one of the most famous photographers specializing in underwater photography. He holds a diploma in documentary photography from the London Academy, and a diploma in French language and literature from the French University of Montpellier, in addition to his participation in a number of international courses. He specializes in the field of photography from Britain, France and Dubai, and in 2014 he received the “Leadership in Professional Photography” award from the International Photography Council (IPC) of the United Nations, thus becoming the first Arab to win this award.

Bin Thalith’s record is full of a number of publications and documentaries, most notably “The Journey of the Green Mountain” and “Gaza Diver” and others.
