Just one day after it was erected, a statue of Rammstein singer Till Lindemann was stolen in Rostock.

As the Rostock police announced on Wednesday, the authority was informed of the theft in the morning.

The statue had therefore only been in a meadow on Bertolt-Brecht-Strasse in Rostock since Tuesday.

The police were looking for witnesses to the theft.

The bronze statue was created by the anonymous artist Roxxy Roxx for Lindemann's 60th birthday on Wednesday.

"Early birthday wishes, Till Lindemann, I made you a statue," the artist wrote on Instagram for a photo of the statue.

The statue was therefore in Rostock in front of the house where Lindemann lived in his youth.

Lindemann is the frontman of the band Rammstein, which was founded in Berlin in 1994 and is known for its elaborate concert productions and provocative music videos and lyrics.

The group is one of the most successful German bands in the world.
