Never two without three.

After two periods of strikes, on December 1 and 2, then from January 26 to 2, the strike of liberal generalists continues.

It is the group Doctors for tomorrow, created in August and supported by several trade unions, which called, Tuesday, for a strike until Sunday and for a day of demonstration in Paris, Thursday, where it will be received at the ministry of health by François Braun.

Among the demands of the Liberals, the increase in the price of the consultation, from 25 to 50 euros, is the flagship measure.

Create an “attractiveness shock”

According to Doctors for tomorrow, this would serve to create a “shock of attractiveness”, in order to attract young practitioners towards city medicine, in offices and not in hospitals, and thus respond to the glaring lack of certain medical deserts.

Indeed, general practitioners regularly complain about the administrative and financial burden of setting up as a freelancer which, according to them, would discourage the youngest from taking over the cabinets.

On the other hand, this price of 50 euros "would be relatively extravagant, it would mean an increase for each general practitioner of the order of 100,000 euros", underlined the director general of the National health insurance fund (Cnam), Thomas Fatôme, at the France Info microphone on Monday.

Negotiations between practitioners and health insurance, which came to a standstill in November, should resume "from the beginning of next week", according to the boss of the CNAM, who assures that the pricing will be revised upwards... but perhaps not the amount requested by the collective Doctors for tomorrow.

And you, what do you think of this new pricing at 50 euros?

Is it disproportionate, in your opinion, given current inflation?

Or is it an appropriate response to the problem of the lack of liberal generalists?

Do you support their movement?

You can answer these questions in the questionnaire below.

Your testimony will be used to write an article.

Thank you !

Health: 50 euros per consultation, is that a lot compared to other European countries?
