• "Infant mortality in France is increasing because of the anti-Covid vaccine", say Internet users who rely on an article published by RMC in May.

  • This article refers to a study conducted by Inserm, the data of which was collected before 2019, therefore before the epidemic and vaccination.

  • The causes of this increase in mortality are not known by researchers.

"Infant mortality in France is increasing because of the anti-Covid vaccine", say Internet users on social networks.

To argue their point, they attach to their publications an article by RMC entitled “For an undetermined reason, infant mortality is increasing in France”.

"They don't understand or they take us for idiots", question some internet users.

According to them, pregnant women who received an injection of one of the vaccines against Covid-19 would have endangered their babies.

FAKE OFF

Unfortunately, the misinformation about anti-covid shots and the virus did not stay in 2022. The rise in child mortality caused by the vaccine is certainly the first of a long list.

The article on which Internet users rely, published last May, clearly indicates “for an undetermined reason”.

There is no question of the injection at any time.

But then we are simply hiding the truth as it is clearly explained on social networks?

Well, no offense to the critics of the sting, no.

Quite simply because the study RMC is talking about is based on data observed between 2012 and 2019. At that time, we were still far from knowing what this famous Covid-19 was, and what it was going to have in store for us. .

And the various vaccines marketed to deal with the virus were therefore obviously not in circulation.

With regard to the rise in infant mortality, this is unfortunately true.

The study was conducted by the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm).

As part of this study, researchers from Inserm, the University of Paris, AP-HP and Nantes University Hospital, in collaboration with teams from the University of California, analyzed the civil status data from the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) between 2001 and 2019.

Their results show that during this study period, the average infant mortality rate was 3.63 per 1,000 (4.00 for boys, 3.25 for girls).

Nearly a quarter of deaths (24.4%) occurred during the first day of life and half (47.8%) during the first week after birth.

“Thanks to extensive statistical analyses, we have identified a significant worsening of the infant mortality rate in France since 2012. By comparing the data with other European countries with similar economies such as Sweden and Finland, we observe each year in France an excess of around 1,200 deaths of children under the age of one year, ”explains Professor Martin Chalumeau, author of the study.

Since the causes of death are not known, it is impossible to explain the cause of this increase.

The authors of the study nevertheless state that it is “essential to be able to explore in detail the causes of this increase”.

According to them, this subject is a research and public health priority.

Several avenues were favored at the time of publication of the article, including: congenital malformations or birth weight.
