We've put together a recap to help you see things more clearly.

The strike of liberal doctors renewed for a week from this Monday

Many stethoscopes will sit in the cupboards for seven more days.

The Doctors for Tomorrow collective, at the initiative of the general practitioners' strike, has decided to renew its appeal for a second consecutive week.

“It is with great regret and bitterness that we officially call for a second week of strike by liberal doctors in France: from January 2 to 8, 2023 inclusive”, explains the collective on its website.

The strikers are calling in particular for a doubling of the basic consultation fee (from 25 to 50 euros), to create a “shock of attractiveness” towards city medicine in dire need of staff.

Lula sworn in as president of Brazil, in a ceremony snubbed by Bolsonaro

Brazil officially turned the page on Jair Bolsonaro on Sunday.

In Brasilia, a human tide was there to cheer Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, now again at the head of the country.

Overwhelmed by emotion and interrupted by sobs, the historic leader of the left pledged to fight against hunger, “the most serious of crimes”, and to “combat all forms of inequality”.

“No one will be a second-class citizen anymore,” he promised during his speech outside the presidential palace in Planalto.

Narrowly elected on October 30, the old lion of politics had been invested shortly before in Congress for a third term, 12 years after leaving power.

His return marks a remarkable comeback for the man who experienced prison only four years ago after being accused of corruption.

In order not to have to give him the presidential sash as democratic tradition requires, Jair Bolsonaro had chosen to leave Brazil two days ago for Florida.

Lens inflicts PSG its first defeat of the season

The year 2023 is off to a bad start for PSG.

Lens inflicted on the capital club its first defeat of the season (3-1) and revived the suspense in Ligue 1, in the clash between the first two, Sunday for the 17th day.

The year therefore begins in Blood and Gold. The artesian collective has eclipsed the absences of two major individuals from PSG, Lionel Messi (on leave) and Neymar (suspended).

Above all, this result allows the runner-up to come back to within four lengths of the leader.
