In the early morning of the 30th, a house burned down in Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture, and two people were found dead from the burnt ruins.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire as well as confirming the identity.

After midnight on the 30th, a passerby found a fire coming out of a house in Koshiki 2-chome, Okinawa City and reported it to the fire department.



Seven fire engines came out to extinguish the fire, and the fire was extinguished after about two and a half hours, but about 100 square meters of a wooden one-story house burned down, and two people were found dead from the burnt ruins.



According to the fire department, it is believed that a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s lived in this house, but they have been unable to contact them after the fire.

The site is a corner of a residential area about a kilometer northeast of Okinawa City Hall.
