China News Service, Changzhi, December 28th (Li Tingyao and Song Ziwei) The winter solstice has passed, and the cold winter mode of counting nine cold days has started.

"The use of straw instead of coal for central heating eliminates the phenomenon of burning straw in the field in the past, and also brings convenience and warmth to the villagers." On December 28, Party branch secretary and villager of Beisongbi Village, Xichi Township, Shangdang District, Changzhi, Shanxi Jing Xiaoyi, director of the committee, told reporters that nearly 300 households in the village survived the winter cleanly and warmly thanks to the closed direct-fired heating demonstration project of replacing coal with straw.

"In the past, in the winter, the yard was full of coal and charcoal. Now it is very worry-free, and I don't have to burn the stove myself. It is clean and warm." Pointing to the heating at home, Liu Dongxiang, a villager in Bi Village in the Northern Song Dynasty, said.

In recent years, Shangdang District has implemented a straw-coal-substituting enclosed direct-fired heating demonstration project, using straw instead of coal-fired heating. Beisongbi Village is one of the promotion demonstration sites.

In 2018, the village built a heating plant, which was put into use in the winter of that year.

"More than 400 villagers in our village have access to central heating. At present, in addition to families who go out to school and work, nearly 300 households living in the village and about 1,000 villagers enjoy this convenience." Jing Xiaoyi introduced that every household in the village used to have their own heating system. Burning coal for heating is neither clean nor safe.

The changes don’t just happen in winter. Jing Xiaoyi said that in the past, there were always villagers burning straw in the fields, causing air pollution and at the same time putting pressure on forest protection and fire prevention. Villagers turn the land for free and recycle straw.”

Walking into the heating plant in the east of Bi Village in the Northern Song Dynasty, two straw direct-fired boilers were running. The staff on duty added bundles of straw to the boilers, but there was no smoke or dust.

"Adding 200 kilograms of straw each time can burn for about 4 hours. The boiler is equipped with a smoke and dust filtration system, and the gas after combustion can meet the standard discharge." Jing Cheng, a boiler worker, introduced.

The closed direct-fired heating demonstration project in Shangdang District uses the patented achievements of Shanxi Yitong Huaneng Technology Co., Ltd.

Straw bundled direct combustion is to burn bundles of straw in a special boiler, so that the straw becomes a clean fuel, and the burned straw ash can be directly returned to the field after simple treatment, or mixed with livestock and poultry manure to make organic fertilizer Return to the field.
