[Explanation] On the evening of December 26, the Chinese government announced that starting from January 8, 2023, "Class B and B Control" will be implemented for new coronavirus infections.
The plan also changed the name of "new coronavirus pneumonia" to "new coronavirus infection".
Why change the name?
Why implement "Class B and B pipes"?
The reporter conducted interviews with relevant experts.
[Explanation] At the beginning of the outbreak, China judged the new crown virus as a Class B infectious disease, but upgraded it to adopt the management method of Class A infectious diseases.
What is the difference between "Class B pipe" and "Class B pipe"?
According to Wei Sheng, a professor of epidemiology at the School of Public Health, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the two have different focuses.

From the perspective of the law on the prevention and control of infectious diseases, its control measures and reporting time limit requirements are very different.
We all know that there are only two types of Class A infectious diseases, cholera and plague, and Class A control is mainly for prevention.
The important thing about "Class B and B management" is the treatment, and the patient is mainly a passive discovery, that is, the patient goes to the doctor, the medical institution discovers it, and then reports it. After the report, he comes to treat him, not in the community as we used to To sift him from here, the strategy is different.
[Explanation] After returning to "Class B and B tubes", people infected with the new coronavirus will no longer be subject to isolation measures, close contacts will no longer be identified, high and low risk areas will no longer be delineated, and people infected with the new coronavirus will be classified and admitted. The detection strategy will be adjusted to "Willing to do all the inspections", and will no longer take quarantine and infectious disease management measures for entry personnel and goods.
[Explanation] Wei Sheng said that after the return to "Class B and B management", there will be many risks of elderly people being infected and running out of medical resources in the short term. Before that, medical resources such as medicines and medical care should be well prepared and mobilized.

From a medical point of view, we must actively prepare and mobilize the medicines and medical resources needed for these severe diseases, including the preparation of hospital beds, for these elderly people, which is to deal with the peak of this possible infection.
[Explanation] The reporter noticed that the Chinese government also changed the name of "new coronavirus pneumonia" to "new coronavirus infection" in this plan.
Wei Sheng believes that with the deepening of people's understanding of the new coronavirus and the changes in the clinical characteristics of the current infection, "pneumonia" can no longer reflect the whole picture of the new crown.

"Pneumonia" is one of the important manifestations, but it is not the only manifestation, and most of them will not develop into pneumonia, so if you define it as "pneumonia", it cannot reflect the whole picture of its infection.
So I think if it ("pneumonia") becomes an "infection", I personally feel that I have a more comprehensive understanding of it.
[Explanation] Talking about the effect of China's "Class B Control" measures against the new crown virus in the past three years, Wei Sheng said that China's implementation of the "Class B Control" policy has withstood the high pathogenicity of the early Alpha and Delta The invasion of the new crown virus has maintained the health of the majority of the people, and its importance and significance cannot be questioned.

Our country has actually demonstrated the strength of a very important socialist system. If you have a major public emergency, especially if the harm is not clear, or if the harm is very serious, the infection of the epidemic will be in our country. Fairly good experience and measures, these can cope.
If there are similar things in the future, I believe our country can do well.
