At the meeting, Wei Wencui, deputy curator of the Museum of Chinese Characters, introduced that the Museum of Chinese Characters has carried out two collections and selections of outstanding achievements in interpretation of oracle bone inscriptions from October 2016 to October 2019.
As of September 30, 2017, the first batch of 65 demonstration reports had been received. After preliminary review and final review by experts, the final selection result was: Mr. Jiang Yubin of Fudan University won the first prize of outstanding achievement with 100,000 yuan of reward funds, Tsinghua University Mr. Wang Ziyang won 1 second prize of outstanding achievements, with a reward fund of 50,000 yuan.
As of October 31, 2019, the second batch of 84 demonstration reports has been received. At present, the preliminary evaluation of the second batch of outstanding achievements in the interpretation of oracle bone inscriptions has been completed, and the final evaluation work is being promoted.
Wei Wencui said that in order to fully mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of oracle bone inscriptions researchers at home and abroad, solve the current bottleneck problems in oracle bone inscription interpretation, and promote new substantive progress in oracle bone inscription interpretation, he will persist in the collection of outstanding achievements in oracle bone inscription interpretation for a long time. Those who participate and achieve outstanding results will be given a financial reward of up to 100,000 yuan.
In the near future, the first batch of 500 uninterpreted oracle bone glyphs will be released, which will be released on the official platform of the Chinese Character Museum after expert verification.
