[Explanation] In the picture, the old man wearing goggles and holding an electric ironing pen is painting on the gourd. Liu Yuqi, a resident of Xining City, is 81 years old this year. He has been studying gourd pyrography for more than 20 years. He is affectionately called "" Grandpa Gourd".

　　[Explanation] The reporter saw in Liu Yuqi's home that on more than a hundred gourd pyrography works, the patterns of flowers, birds, fish, insects, ladies, and children are vivid and very ornamental.

Some tools that are not available in the market on Liu Yuqi's workbench attracted the attention of reporters.

　　(In the beginning) I bought a small electric soldering iron, and I wrote on it. The soldering iron was so long, and I couldn’t write on it with this head. It worked, so I changed this head.

This is for writing, and most of them were done a lot in the past, such as making flowers and embossing lace.

　　[Explanation] Liu Yuqi said that it takes nearly two months from the beginning of drafting to the completion of the production of a gourd soldering iron painting, because the shape of each gourd is different, and the creation must be conceived according to the shape, drawing and writing with a pencil , and then use an electric ironing pen to iron the pattern on the gourd, and finally use a cotton swab to dip a little bit of paint to fill in the color. Patience and skill are indispensable.

　　Like ink, it can also produce five colors, the darkest brown and the lightest golden yellow, which are also very beautiful.

After a long period of time, it will start to change by itself, and the current color will gradually become black and red. If you heat this color, you will not be able to see clearly.

During this process, (preservation) should not be exposed to the sun every day, and the light should be avoided as much as possible, so that it will be better.
