The MaPrimeRénov' system created in 2020 will evolve in the days to come.

From February 1, the ceilings will be raised “in order to take inflation into account and promote global renovations,” said Minister for Ecological Transition Christophe Béchu in a press release on Thursday.

Another development, from January 1, "MaPrimeRénov' will no longer allow subsidizing the purchase of gas boilers, including those with very high energy performance", underlined the government "in accordance with the orientation of gradually reducing our dependence to fossil fuels”.

Support low-income households

Led by the National Housing Agency (Anah), MaPrimeRénov', with a budget of 2.5 billion euros in 2023, aims to help French people, whatever their income, to renovate their homes to reduce their energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

“These increased resources will make it possible to support the most efficient renovations as a priority and to increase support for low-income households” from February 1, 2023, we can also read in the document.

According to a report by France Strategy published on Tuesday, low-income households are the main beneficiaries of MaPrimeRénov 'since they represent 68% of requests validated in 2021. Of the 640,000 files processed last year, 83% were renovations which only concern a gesture (change of boiler, insulation, etc.).

For condominiums?

With regard to the MaPrimeRénov 'co-ownership scheme, which makes it possible to finance energy renovation work on the common areas of condominiums, this will see its ceilings raised "from 15,000 to 25,000 euros".

On the side of MaPrimeRénov serenity, which concerns renovation work allowing an energy gain of at least 35%, the ceilings "will be increased from 30,000 euros to 35,000 euros to better support the most modest households in their global renovation projects".
