Japan Post has decided to start a service to support application procedures at approximately 2,300 post offices nationwide in order to support the spread of My Number Cards.

Japan Post will provide this service free of charge at 2,294 post offices in 723 municipalities nationwide from the 10th of next month to the end of March, under contract from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.



A post office employee will check the contents of the application form and take a photograph of the person's face on the spot to support the procedures necessary for the application.



You can apply even if you come empty-handed, but in order to receive your My Number Card, you need to bring your driver's license or other documents that can verify your identity and go to the municipal office.



These services are also being implemented at approximately 8,000 stores nationwide of the three major mobile phone companies, but with the addition of the post office this time, services that support application procedures will be provided in all municipalities nationwide. Become.

Hiroya Masuda, President of Japan Post Holdings, said, "We recognize that promoting the popularization of My Number cards is one of the most important issues of the country. We would like to provide various forms of support so that more people can use them."



The government aims to have My Number Cards available to almost all citizens by the end of this fiscal year, and as of the 18th of this month, more than 80.19 million people, or 63.7% of the population, have applied.
