The death of the creator of the chicken tikka masala dish, the Scottish chef Ahmed Islam Ali

The Scottish chef Ahmed Islam Ali, who was claiming to be the creator of the chicken tikka masala dish, has passed away at the age of 77, according to his restaurant's Facebook page, "Glasgow".

Chicken tikka masala has become a traditional dish served by South Asian restaurants around the world.

And this dish began to be served with curries and spices in the seventies of the last century in the "Shish Mahal" restaurant, before it became one of the most eaten dishes in the United Kingdom."

In an interview with Agence France-Presse in 2009, Ahmed Aslam Ali, who hails from Punjab, Pakistan, said, "A dish was created Chicken tikka masala in our restaurant.

We used to serve chicken tikka (marinated grilled chicken), but one time a customer expressed his desire to add sauce to this dish, and since then we have been preparing it with a sauce made of yogurt, cream and spices.”

And his nephew, Andlip Ahmed, confirmed that "the restaurant was the center of the life" of the Scottish chef, and he used to have lunch there every day.

Although it is difficult to prove the origin of the dish, the Scottish local MP, Muhammad Sarwar, has taken steps to classify chicken tikka masala among the local dishes.

In 2001, then British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook noted that chicken tikka masala was "the British national dish par excellence" and "an excellent example of the way Britain receives and adapts to outside influences".
