Hugh Jackman felt "like a wreck" while filming his new film "The Son".

As the Wolverine actor explained to the BBC, he had anxiety attacks on set after a long Covid break.

"I really realized how vulnerable I was." In the film, he plays the role of a workaholic who lives with his partner and their baby, which complicates his relationship with his teenage son.

While Jackman was making the film, his father, Christopher John Jackman, died.

His strict work ethic made the actor feel compelled to appear on set: "My father never missed a day in his life," said Jackman, explaining why he never took time off to grieve: "I did imagined what my father would say.

And I know he would have said go to work.”

Actually, as Jackman says of himself, he is a balanced character.

However, during the filming he suffered from sleepless nights.

The 54-year-old therefore consulted a therapist who helped him during filming.

The film's producers also employed a psychologist on set in case members of the cast and crew wanted to discuss the disturbing material.

"It was the first time I'd seen anything like that on a movie," says Jackman.

"People recognized that, it was necessary." Jackman advocated that there be more psychological support for film shoots in the future.

The Australian has already received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor for his role in the drama.

Jackman is also a film producer and singer.

He was best known for the action thriller "Password: Swordfish" and is still best known for his role as Wolverine from the "X-Men" series.

He also celebrated great success as a musical actor, including in "The Boy from Oz" and "Les Misérables".
