Dali Yabuyi Township is located in the hinterland of the Taklamakan Desert, more than 200 kilometers north of Yutian County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang, on the lower reaches of the Keriya River. Many original desert dwellings and ancient living customs are preserved here.

The residential buildings in Dali Yabuyi are "Bazifang" built with Populus euphratica, red willow, reed and silt, which is an ingenious creation of local residents according to local conditions.

The local people use thicker branches of Populus euphratica as piles and beams, thin red willow branches are tied into rows of walls, and the roof is covered with reeds.

Bedrooms are usually smeared with mud from the river bottom for a week to keep out the wind and insulate them.

The cooking room is usually not smeared with silt for better ventilation and lighting.

The desert diet is simple and extensive, and there is no stove in the house. Usually, a pit is dug in the ground near the door, covered with sand, and dead branches are lit on it to cook food.

Kumaiqi, Hongliu barbecue and other specialties were born and developed in such a culinary environment.

Dali Yabuyi attracts many tourists with its ancient and mysterious.

In recent years, it has gradually become one of the must-see places for many off-road self-driving tourists.
