Can I register now on Parcoursup?

Registrations will only be possible from January 18th.

To do this, you will need an email address, a mobile phone number and the INE (national student identifier).

In the meantime, the student can already consult the training sheets to possibly ask questions to his main teacher.

How many vows and sub-wishes could I make?

We are entitled to 10 wishes and 20 sub-wishes.

“For university licenses, there are generally no sub-vows.

Example: if you ask for a degree in history in three universities, that makes you three wishes”, explains Jérôme Teillard.

For BTS, BUT, prep class, it's possible.

Example: we make a wish for the IT BTS and three sub-wishes corresponding to three different high schools that offer this training.

Is Parcoursup accessible to foreign students?

Those who pass a French baccalaureate abroad can apply for higher education on Parcoursup.

Ditto for those who come from a country of the European Union.

For those who are not European or do not pass a French baccalaureate, if they want to go to university, they must apply for prior admission, managed by Campus France.

For those who want another training (BTS, IFSI, schools…), they will have to go through Parcoursup.

I did not take the maths specialty in high school, is it prohibitive to ask for certain higher education courses?

Some scientific training is not accessible without the math specialty, for example: a mathematics license.

But there are training courses for which this is not essential.

Jérôme Teillard indicates that the Ministry of Higher Education has issued instructions to training to ask them not to condition access to certain courses for students who have not chosen a particular doublet in the final year.

What should a cover letter contain?

This letter of motivation in 1,500 characters maximum, is obligatory.

We must say very concretely why we absolutely want to integrate this training and that we have understood its requirements.

This is an element that will count in the analysis of the files of the candidates, indicates Jérôme Teillard.

How is Parcoursup going for students in reorientation?

Last year, 186,000 students applied for reorientation on the platform.

They receive slightly fewer proposals than first-time baccalaureate holders, “but each year we are progressing on the share of students in reorientation receiving a proposal on Parcoursup”, certifies Jérôme Teillard.

If you are aiming for apprenticeship training, are you privileged if you already have your employer to obtain a place?

If you have found your employer, “you will easily find training to welcome you,” says Jérôme Teillard.

Will the results of the March specialty tests be taken into account?

Yes and this is also the first year that they will be, because the Covid had prevented it last year.

These are national tests that will be corrected by teachers outside the school.

This determines student results.

What are the dates of the different stages of Parcoursup?

There are three phases.

That of information.

From January 18 to March 9, wishes are made.

We will complete his file and we will finalize the wishes from March 10 until April 6.

From June 1st, you will receive proposals until July 13th.

Where can I find out about the dates of the open days?

In each training sheet, you can find them.

It is interesting to go to these information days to meet training managers and students.

Where can I seek advice for my orientation choices?

In each high school, the head teachers will organize discussion times with the students from January.

You can also go to a CIO, if you want to mature your project.

Free digital guidance services are also listed on Parcoursup.
