A “special children’s” TGV for the Christmas weekend.

This is the announcement of Alain Krakovitch, the director of TGV-Intercités, while a strike by SNCF controllers will disrupt train traffic during the Christmas weekend.

This train chartered by the SNCF which will go "from north to south" and "will allow at least 450 children to be able to join their families for Christmas", indicated on BFM TV the leader of the transport company.

The objective of this exceptional measure is to take care of the children of the SNCF Junior & Cie support service.

Those who would normally travel on this service and are affected by the Christmas strike will board this special train.

Tickets refunded at 200%

In addition, Alain Krakovitch confirmed the exceptional compensation measure for travelers whose trains will be canceled this weekend.

As announced Wednesday morning by Christophe Fanichet, CEO of SNCF Voyageurs, tickets will be 200% refunded to travelers whose train has been cancelled.

Only two out of three trains will run over the Christmas weekend.

Cancellations almost mainly concern TGVs.

On Friday, two out of three TGVs should run on the Atlantic and Mediterranean axes, one out of two trains on the North axis (the Paris-Lille shuttle will be almost normal) and three out of four East TGVs.

A TGV on two province-province will circulate, according to a press release published by the SNCF on Tuesday.

Three out of four Ouigo should also be able to leave.
