"Today, we have blood groups on which we have barely eight days of coverage", worries Hervé Meinrad, director of Collection and Production at the EFS.

"These are thresholds that are far below what we need to function properly. As a result, we are very tense on the O positive and O negative groups. We also experience strong tensions on the positive and negative Bs, as well as on negative A's," he adds.

save three lives

“We currently have a drop in donations of around 20% every day for more than three weeks. As a result, we are missing nearly 1,500 pockets every day and it is imperative that we manage to have 10,000 donations per day. to be able not only to operate, but also to gradually increase our stock", specifies Hervé Meinrad.

To motivate the French, the Director of Collection and Production recalls "that with a blood donation that takes less than an hour, we can save three lives".

And to conclude: "Do not hesitate to come and see us to help us guarantee the availability of these products for patients".
