In conjunction with the celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language, the Culture and Science Symposium in Dubai, in cooperation with the Emirates Society for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Decoration, hosted the exhibition "Emirati Letters 7", which included 29 distinguished works of art with the participation of 19 Emirati calligraphers.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Symposium, Bilal Al-Budour, stressed the importance of celebrating the Arabic language, as it is one of the pillars of the cultural diversity of humanity, noting that it is one of the most widely spoken languages ​​in the world among the six languages ​​that the United Nations institutions deal with.

He added, "Herwifs and Arabic calligraphy are rooted in the Arabic language and its aesthetics, as well as its flexibility and elegance that enhance the essence and components of the language."

For his part, Khaled Al-Jallaf, President of the Emirates Association for Arabic Calligraphy and Decoration, said, “The Emirati Letters Exhibition, in its seventh edition, is the result of cooperation and partnership between the Culture Symposium and the Association. Poetry expresses the extent to which they are able to create crafts and writing, and the extent of care that the people of the Emirates receive in all arts.

Al-Jallaf participated in a painting on which he wrote: “God is great, great” in modern Kufic script.

While Ruqaya Muhammad Ali participated in the exhibition with a painting of the sayings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai: “We will not live for hundreds of years, but we can create something that will last for hundreds of years.” It is a saying that contains innovation, an invitation to creativity, motivation and encouragement. It was written in Nasta'liq script.

Also participating in the exhibition are calligraphers: Fatima Al-Sayed with “Surah Al-Fatiha” in the Andalusian-Moroccan script, Fatima Al-Sayed with “Ayat Al-Kursi” in the Diwani and Diwani Jali script, Marwan Al-Hammadi with verses from the poems of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in Thuluth script, and Fatima Al-Dhanhani with the words: «The Horses Maymen» in the lines of Al-Diwani Al-Jali and the old Kufic.

While the participation of Amal Al-Mulla came with the phrase: “There is no benefit to money without men” (which is what the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul in peace), said in Al-Diwani Al-Jali script, and Fayez Al-Naqbi with a painting entitled: “Prayer” in Naskh script, and Fayez Al-Naqbi With verses from Surat Al-Naba’ in Naskh script, Wafa Al-Kindi has two panels, one of which reads: “Poetry and Wisdom” in Thuluth script, and the second is “Culture is a sanctuary” in Clear Thuluth script.

Calligrapher Fatima Al-Hammadi attended four paintings that highlight the art of calligraphy, in which colors blend with letters in a plastic manner, with the use of a free line similar to the Diwani line to achieve flexibility between color and letters in larger borders, and a line of words: “harmony”, “astronomy” and “relationship”. Streamlined.

The calligrapher Nasser Al-Yassi indicated that his participation in the exhibition comes with a board in which he wrote a verse: “God will suffice you for them, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing” in the third line, and in it he mixed symmetry and contrast to indicate that no matter how the conditions fluctuate, God remains sufficient, pointing out that the exhibition hosted by the Culture and Science Symposium Shows the community the importance of Arabic calligraphy and its aesthetics.

While the calligrapher Ammar Al-Balushi said: “His participation brings a work in Levantine Kufic script in a new look, and by using Arab culture and reflecting it in this artistic work. .

The calligrapher Mahmoud Al-Abadi participated in two paintings: “Lord, make this a safe country” in the Thuluth script, and “Muhammad is the Messenger of God” in the Thuluth script, and Fatima Jouri with a painting of Surat Al-Ikhlas using square Kufic script in a modern style outside the scope of traditionalism in her works, with a focus on light and shadow.

The calligrapher Aisha Al-Marzouqi painted three paintings in Nastaliq script: Surat Al-Qadr, a supplication, and “Say, Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was a child.”

The artist, Fatima Salmeen, participated in a painting: “And if you wish for something, you are all the wish” in the clear third line, and the letters are mostly outside the frame of the painting to express that wish has no limits.

And the artist, Fatima Al-Sayed, in Surat Al-Kawthar, in the Kofi script.

For her part, the calligrapher Nada Al-Mazmi said: "She is participating in the exhibition with two paintings: one of them is Surat Al-Sharh in Naskh script and gilding, and (Dhul Jalal and Ikram) in Thuluth script."

She emphasized that the exhibition encourages local calligraphers to prove their abilities and develop them.

Sudanese calligrapher Taj Al-Sir Hassan said: “The Emirati Letters Exhibition is in its seventh edition, in which creative members of the Emirates Society for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Decoration participate, whether from new or former talents, aiming to encourage and contribute to developing the capabilities of those wishing to study calligraphy.” Arab and highlight their work in front of the public.
