The arrival of the Christmas holidays led to a burst of vaccination against Covid-19.

Last Tuesday, 160,000 people received a booster dose and over the past week there have been an average of nearly 100,000 vaccinations each day.

However, total vaccination coverage remains very low.

This Saturday marks the start of the Christmas holidays.

And before joining the family, you may have finally decided to get vaccinated against Covid-19 to be more serene.

In any case, many French people are thinking about it, a week after the call from the Minister of Health.

A vaccination burst?

Vaccination coverage remains very low

This week there have been spikes.

Up to 160,000 people received a booster dose against Covid in a single day.

It was Tuesday and over the past week, there have been an average of nearly 100,000 vaccinations each day.

This is three times more than two weeks ago.

For comparison, at the end of November, there were an average of 30,000 reminders administered daily.

The vast majority of vaccinations have been carried out with bivalent vaccines, ie those adapted to Omicron.

This is what the health authorities recommend.

So, despite this burst of vaccination on the part of the French to protect themselves before the holidays, vaccination coverage remains very low.

In total, 8,644,000 people received two reminders in France.
