Xinhua News Agency, Guangzhou, December 10 (Reporters Xiao Sisi, Ma Xiaocheng, Xu Hongyi) Recently, the number of fever outpatients in some urban hospitals has increased significantly.

In this regard, Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said in an interview with reporters on the 9th that patients with fever should be isolated at home according to their own conditions, or go to the hospital for further examination.

The reporter recently visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center (Children's Campus). The fever clinics are all open to the public and the order is generally normal.

A nurse at the fever clinic of Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center (Children's Campus) said that at present, parents who take their children to the fever clinic need to do nucleic acid testing on the spot, and wait about 2 to 4 hours for the results in the fever clinic.

Zhong Nanshan said that the reason for the recent fever is not simply the infection of the new crown, but also many of them are influenza, and a few people may be double-infected.

This is also the peak season of winter flu.

He said that patients with fever should generally pay attention to the first day and the second day. If the fever does not subside within a day or two, you can do a new crown antigen test at home. If it is negative, you can wait.

If the new crown antigen is positive, but there is no other feeling, there is no need to go to the hospital, just stay at home.

"It depends on the persistent situation and how you feel. Omicron's fever usually lasts for 2 to 3 days and rarely lasts. The same is true for influenza. If it lasts for a long time, you should go to the hospital for further examination." Zhong Nanshan said.
