Dr. Salah Fadl, "Muhammad Salah El-Din Abdel Samie Fadl" was born in the village of Shabas Al-Shuhada in the middle of the Delta in 1938. He passed the first elementary and secondary educational stages at Al-Azhar institutes.

He obtained a BA from the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom - Cairo University in 1962 AD.

He worked as a teaching assistant at the same college from his graduation until 1965.

He was sent on a mission for postgraduate studies in Spain, and he obtained a state doctorate in literature from the Central University of Madrid in 1972 AD.

During his mission, he worked as a teacher of Arabic literature and translation at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Madrid from 1968 to 1972. During the same period, he contracted with the Supreme Council for Scientific Research in Spain to contribute to reviving and publishing Ibn Rushd's philosophical heritage.

After his return, he worked as a professor of literature and criticism at the Faculties of Arabic Language and Girls at Al-Azhar University.

He worked as a visiting professor at the Mexican College of Graduate Studies from 1974 to 1977. During his stay in Mexico, he established the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Autonomous University of Mexico in 1975.

And he moved to work as a professor of literary criticism and comparative literature at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, from 1979 AD until now.

He was assigned as a cultural advisor to Egypt and director of the Egyptian Institute for Islamic Studies in Madrid, Spain, from 1980 to 1985. In the meantime, he was the editor-in-chief of the magazine of the Egyptian Institute for Islamic Studies in Madrid.

Chosen Honorary Professor of Postgraduate Studies at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

After his return to Egypt, he was assigned as Dean of the Higher Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts in Egypt from 1985 to 1988. He worked as a visiting professor at the universities of Sana’a in Yemen and Bahrain until 1994. He also worked as a professor of literary criticism and comparative literature at the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University and head of the Arabic Language Department, and he is now a professor. full-time in it.

He was also delegated to assume the presidency of the Board of Directors of the National Books and Documents House from January 2002 until March 2003, when he was referred to retirement after reaching the legal age.

Dr. Salah Fadl was elected a member of the Arabic Language Academy in 2003, in the place vacated by the death of Dr. Badawi Tabana.

He is a member of the Economics Committee, and a rapporteur for the Literature Committee. He is the owner of a major project to develop the work of the Academy, expand its circle of activity and spread its message. He presented it to the Council of the Academy, and a ministerial decision was issued to him assigning him to act as the head of the Arabic Language Academy since November 2020.
