  Li Qiang is the fifth-generation inheritor of Yuzhang carved porcelain. He told reporters that Yuzhang carved porcelain is an art form that combines painting, calligraphy and engraving, and integrates brush, ink, color and knife.

Yuzhang engraved porcelain, also known as glaze engraved porcelain, is a unique traditional Chinese ceramic decorative art. It originated from Beijing Tianfu Yin Craft School, formed in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, and spread to Nanchang.

Due to the characteristics of porcelain itself, when making porcelain engraving, one must concentrate on it, and once a mistake is made, it is difficult to correct it.

  Looking closely at Li Qiang's engraved porcelain works, it is as smooth as painting on rice paper with ink and wash, with clear and distinct layers. Touching the subtleties of the paintings with your fingertips, you can feel the concave and convex texture left on the porcelain surface. Forming "lines", accumulating "lines" to form "faces", and finally forming a painting, shows his profound carving skills with a knife like a pen.
