As the winter season prepares, some professionals fear the weather.

This is particularly the case of the ski resort of Laguiole (Aveyron).

Within two weeks, it should welcome the first vacationers.

But it is considering postponing its opening due to the lack of snow, reports France 3 Occitanie.

Tuesday, only 15 cm of snow fell while 40 cm was announced by Météo-France.

Too little for the station manager, who took the decision to activate the snow trucks.

“We produced two nights in a row, unfortunately the conditions are not really favorable”, he notes.

The snow is not of good quality because it is not cold enough and there is too much humidity in the air.

Goal: 30% savings

At a time of energy sobriety, the municipality has also announced that the 15 slopes of the resort will be less accessible this year, outside school holidays.

“There will be a two-day closure between holiday periods, Tuesday and Thursday.

On other days, the opening of the ski lifts is limited, ”explains the mayor, Vincent Alazard.

Objective: achieve 30% savings.
