On the evening of the 9th, a house burned down in Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture, and two people were found dead from the burnt ruins.


The police believe that the deceased are a couple living in this house, and are proceeding with confirmation of their identities.

Around 6:30 pm on the 9th, the fire department was notified that a house in Higashi Koshigaya, Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture was on fire.



Nine fire engines and other vehicles were dispatched and the fire was extinguished after about two hours, but one single-story wooden house burned down, and two people were found dead from the burnt ruins.



According to the police, Kazuhiro Teramoto (83), his 78-year-old wife, and Teramoto's second son in his 40s live in the house. After that, he lost contact with Mr. and Mrs. Teramoto.



Police are investigating the cause of the fire, as well as confirming that it was Mr. Teramoto and his wife who died.



The site is a residential area about 1 km east of Koshigaya Station on the Tobu Skytree Line.
